Where Is The WiFi Button On An MSI Laptop? Solved!

Wi-Fi is essential for our daily lives, which is why MSI designs their laptops with a button that allows you to quickly and easily turn the internet on and off.

The Wi-Fi button on an MSI laptop is generally located on the side of the device and can be identified by the Wi-Fi symbol. Alternatively, you can use your MSI laptop’s FN button + the F10 key (or another F key) to turn Wi-Fi on or off.

After extensively researching MSI troubleshooting forums, I have gathered enough information to determine where the Wi-Fi button is located on an MSI laptop. My research has indicated that the location of the MSI Wi-Fi button may vary depending on the model year that the laptop was released.

Whether you use your MSI laptop for gaming, streaming, work, or all of the above, having internet access is an absolute must. To make life easier for all of us, MSI has made turning Wi-Fi on faster than ever.

Virtually all MSI laptops are equipped with a button that toggles the Wi-Fi on or off. With that said, the location of the Wi-Fi button can vary depending on the laptop model that you own. Check the following areas of your MSI laptop to find the Wi-Fi button.

Side of the Laptop

The majority of modern MSI laptops are equipped with a Wi-Fi button on the side of the device. Take a look at the right side of your MSI laptop to see if you can spot a Wi-Fi or internet symbol.

The button next to this symbol allows you to toggle the Wi-Fi on and off. The light next to the switch will indicate whether or not you have Wi-Fi activated.

Function Button + F Keys

If MSI did not design your laptop with a designated Wi-Fi button, then you can still turn the internet on and off using the function button + the F keys.

However, the F key that you need to use can vary. Examine the F keys on your laptop (top row), and look for a Wi-Fi Symbol. This usually looks like an antenna or another common internet symbol.

On most MSI laptops, the Wi-Fi button is connected to the F10 key, but its location can change.

On the other hand, the function button (FN) should be on the bottom row of keys. Take a look at the Left CNTRL button in the bottom left corner, the FN key will be to the right of it.

Once you have located the appropriate F key and the function button, follow these steps:

  1. Hold down the FN button
  2. While holding the FN button, press the F key

How to Turn MSI Laptop Wi-Fi On Without a Button

Although MSI has added a Wi-Fi button on its laptops, a lot of people still prefer to turn their internet on using their computers.

The easiest way to do this is to simply hover your mouse over the bottom right corner of your screen on the Wi-Fi icon. Clicking the Wi-Fi icon will open up the available connections around you.

If you do not see a Wi-Fi icon on the screen, press the upward arrow to expand the options in the corner. After you click the Wi-Fi icon, you will also see an option for turning the Wi-Fi on and off.

If you ever experience an issue with your MSI Wi-Fi button not working, check to make sure that the internet has been turned on via the computer before you start doing any troubleshooting.

A lot of MSI laptop owners have experienced problems with their internet working even after locating the Wi-Fi button.

Wi-Fi connection issues are notorious, and they can be quite frustrating to deal with. There are a lot of different factors that can contribute to network problems, but luckily most of them are fairly easy to resolve.

If you have already confirmed that your Wi-Fi button is engaged and the internet activated on your MSI device, then you need to troubleshoot the issue. Try the following methods to get your MSI laptop’s Wi-Fi working.

Restart Laptop

I’m often amazed by how many glitches and technical problems a quick and simple restart can resolve.

Before you dive into any advanced troubleshooting approaches, I recommend starting with the easiest solutions first. Restart your laptop, and see if this solves the problem.

Test Wi-Fi Connection

Most Wi-Fi issues are not actually connected to the device but to the network. You should test your connection to confirm that your Wi-Fi is properly working.

To do this, try connecting to the internet using another device such as a smartphone. If you are not able to connect, then your Wi-Fi connection is causing the problem.

Reset Router

Much like your MSI laptop, your home’s router can experience an occasional glitch that will interfere with the connection. Resetting the router is the most straightforward method for fixing these problems.

You can reset your home’s router by following these steps:

  1. Unplug the router from its power source
  2. Wait 15 seconds
  3. Plug the router back in

Windows Troubleshooter

The Windows troubleshooter is incredibly useful when network issues occur, especially if you have no idea what is causing them.

You can use the Windows troubleshooter to run a diagnostics test on your MSI laptop’s Wi-Fi connection. While the test runs, Windows will automatically fix any glitches that it finds. Follow these steps to run the Windows troubleshooter:

  1. Right-Click Wi-Fi icon
  2. Click on Troubleshoot
